This is to discuss the significance of testimonial accounts as sources in supporting claims on Ikwipedia. Testimony is what someone (known as a witness) says they experienced or sensed. When someone testifies it is not inherently inferior to other kinds of non-empirical evidence. Testimony, including statements such as "I saw an alien," is unequivocally a form of evidence. A consensus that testimony is inherently evidence, at least in some cultures, is apparently implicit in the use of "to give one's evidence" as a formal synonym for "to testify".
